Why convert an XRechnung to PDF?
An XRechnung contains no layout — it is pure XML. Colleagues who approve invoices, managers who sign off payments or tax advisors without e-invoice software often just want to see a normal document. A PDF rendering solves that without anyone installing new software.
Converting is not archiving
The PDF is a readable copy, not the invoice itself. For an e-invoice, the structured XML is the original that must be archived unchanged. Keep the XML and add the PDF as a convenience copy, for example in the same folder with the same file name.
What is shown in the PDF
- Invoice number, issue date, service date or period, due date
- Seller and buyer with addresses, VAT IDs and buyer reference / Leitweg-ID
- All line items with quantity, unit, net price and VAT rate
- VAT breakdown, net, VAT and gross totals, allowances and charges
- Payment terms and bank details (IBAN, BIC)
Tips
- The PDF is only a reading copy — always archive the original XML as well.
- Need a real e-invoice as PDF with XML? Convert the XRechnung to ZUGFeRD in the converter.
- The conversion runs locally — no invoice is uploaded.
